These pretty chairs needed a table. They just needed one! They were not showing their best without a table..so we made one! Well Bob made one.
We found this table at an estate sale but the top was in pretty bad shape so Bob took the top of and made a new top. He recently added a table saw to his collection of tools and it has made the world of difference in making and customizing wood for his needs in furniture building. He also is pretty good at making edges on the table and fitting it all together. I’m very impressed. I suppose growing up in a family owned hardware store has helped a lot here.
I don’t have a before but think warped, broken trashy top with a black base. Here she is with a Heirloom white base, it is metal. Almost like an old sewing machine table base but larger as it is table top height. The top was stained in Walnut with a low gloss varnish.
It’s so pretty it just need to be in an eat in kitchen, don’t you think?
Now for a few close ups of the top and base and how fabulous it looks with these chairs!
So who would you serve a special dinner for if this was your table? I think my mom!
