I was in love with this dresser when I first spotted it! At the Salvation Army of all places! I go in to look to see if they have anything that I like and isn’t overpriced. Mostly I am not very successful but this trip I was! I see why it was still their the top was in very poor condition, needing patching as it had slices in it from the veneer peeling apart. The drawers worked great just needed a little care. So I grabbed the tag as soon as I could and bought it! Well, first I texted Bob a photo but he was slow in his response so I made an executive decision to buy it. I usually like to get his opinion but I’m finding I am better at finding a few good pieces on my own.
I really like the thrift stores in my area, they actually help load items. That is so nice! I had Bob’s truck again and this fit beautifully in the back.
Here is the before picture.
I knew I wanted this sleek and modern. I love the 3 drawers and the waterfall front is always so pretty. I also knew Navy was my color. I have a customer who is ordering a Navy dresser and I always like to check the color on something first before I commit it to someone else’s item. I am so happy I did!
I chose General Finished Coastal Blue and with some patching, two coats of paint and two coats of High Performance Top Coat it became the dresser I was hoping it would be. I also knew I wanted drawer pulls in brushed nickel. I got these at Lowe’s. They were the perfect finishing touch, don’t you think?
See that beautiful Carnival Glass bowl? It’s iridescent and I love it! The MICHIGAN wall hanging too. We did that and added the flower to an old canning jar. You could actually put anything in it and we could do one in any color you want. Just let me know.
This is the final before and after. This dresser is now ready for a new home!
